Year 8 Boys House Football

Many congratulations to the Normans who emerged as winners in the house football. Glorious spring sunshine set the tone to a splendid morning of football at Hugh Sexey. It was pleasing to see the vast majority of the boys taking part and the games were hotly contested. Ewan Duckett of the Celts was a victim of some tough tackling early on, but he picked himself up and delivered some commanding performances for the Celts. The Celts were a well drilled and committed outfit and in many ways were unlucky to finish with only 6 points. They picked up victories against the Saxons and the Vikings. The Vikings ran all of the teams close and secured 2nd place with 10 points. There wins coming against Saxons and Celts B and Normans B. Ronnie Newton put in some big games for the Vikings, as did the industrious Henry Reid and the creative Aidan Scoulding. In the end the Normans were simply too powerful an outfit and it is no surprise with a number of skilful players in their ranks. Henry Flanagan and Fraser Bruce worked tirelessly throughout and George Moss was a potent goal scorer.
Well done to all of the players involved, and many thanks to the staff who came and offered their support.
