Yr 6 Visit Ashford Reservoir and Treatment Works

Year 6 enjoyed an educational and fun visit to Ashford Reservoir last week.  We learnt about the processes involved in cleaning river water so that it is safe to drink.  We toured the works and saw where the chemicals are added, how the flocculators work and we learnt about the different filtration processes.

We also measured the width and depth of the rivers on the site and drew a cross section of the river.

We also had lots of fun building dens and exploring the wildlife around the reservoir.
