Dear Year 8s,

I hope you are all still safe, well and happy. laugh

This is the last week on our Cult of Celebrity Project and I hope you will enjoy these final tasks, which include designing an advertising poster and a TV advert.

If you have any questions about the work set, or would like to share your work, either with just me or on the WOW Work page, email me at

Have fun! smiley

Fancy Writing some Poetry for a Competition?   Well, now is your chance!

The 2020 Charles Causley Young Person’s Poetry Competition:

We have great pleasure in launching the 2020 Charles Causley Trust Young Person’s Poetry Competition.  We invite you to forward this message to any relevant staff members in your school, and to children who are currently home-schooling.

The competition is open to all children and young people aged 5 – 18 and our website gives full details of the different categories and how to enter.  Please visit us at to find out more.  Entry is FREE and prizes will include vouchers, books, and other writing-related treats!  Plus, winners will be invited to a prize-giving event hosted by our Patron, Patrick Gale, in October 2020 at the North Cornwall Book Festival.

The theme of this year’s competition is Environment.

In the current circumstances, we hope our competition can be used as a creative and inspiring resource for children still attending school and for those who are home-schooling.  Extra time at home or school could be a great opportunity for children to think about the environment and get down to some wonderful creative writing!

Please visit us at to find out more.

With best wishes from The Charles Causley Trust.
