Inter-area cross country race

Congratulations to Bethany, Libby, Poppy and Noah who were selected for and represented Mendip in an inter-area cross country race in Yeovil.  Their selection was based on their fantastic performances throughout the Mendip Junior Schools Cross Country League.

It was a great opportunity to run against the best runners in their age group in Somerset.

All ran with enthusiasm and determination and no shortage of talent.

Mendip won the Y5&6 Girls category.  The Mendip boys would have also achieved a medal had their team not been missing a runner from another school who dropped out at the eleventh hour.

I am extremely proud of Poppy who showed amazing resilience and sportsmanship following a collision with another runner close to the finish line when an individual medal looked to have been in her sights.
