U12 ESFA NATIONALS ROUND 1 versus MILLFIELD PREP SCHOOL - AWAY
On Monday the girls U12's football team travelled to Millfield Prep school for the 1st round of the ESFA CUP.
The girls have been working extremely hard in training preparing for this exciting fixture.
Millfield won the coin toss and chose to kick off, playing on a lovely pitch which was in absolutely great condition.
From the first whistle Hugh Sexey's were dominant, playing some great football despite the difficult wind conditions and scoring 4 goals. Some of the goals were absolutely spectacular, particularly Jemima Thurling's 20 yarder screamer in the top corner!
As half time approached we were able to make some changes and try out different position/tactics. All credit to the girls who came off the bench: Slater, Charalambous, Jackson-Voyzey, and Catley-Day; they came on and made an immediate impact - all are fighting for the starting spot next round which is great to see.
Hugh Sexey's won the game by a big margin - all credit to Millfield for not giving up and keeping going.
Player of the match was Jemima Thurling for her dangerous goal scoring ability, with 8 goals to her name. A special mention as well for Millie Pargeter who is getting better every game and put in a solid display in defence.
This was a great start to the U12's campaign. Well done girls - keep up the good work.
