Ross McGrath
Leader of PE
Starting in January 2016
I am very excited to start work at Hugh Sexey School. It is a School with an excellent reputation in sport and a School I was aware of whilst working in the South West of England. I can't wait to begin and contribute to the school and the thriving PE department.
I am now in my 10th year of teaching and I can't believe how quickly it has gone. My first job was at St Katherine’s School, a secondary school in North Somerset. I then took a head of PE post at Knowle DGE in Bristol and then moved abroad to work for Wellington College, an International School in Tianjin; China as Head of PE. Every job I have had has been different and I have learned something new along the way.
From a personal point of view I am interested and enjoy all sports and am looking forward to getting a few more years of rugby and judo out of my body before it is time to retire. I also enjoy wind surfing, skiing and surfing. Away from sport I am a keen musician and my wife and I enjoy travelling.
In the day I spent at Hugh Sexey I was struck by the enthusiasm and energy of the students and the close family community within the School. I am very proud to now be a part of that and I look forward to getting to know the students, staff and parents.
