CAREERS

CAREERS 1

Hello Year 8

It is great to hear some of you will be coming into school next week.

In PSHE the topic is CAREERS this week. Looking at your future challenges and exploring jobs, skills and personal attributes.

To get you going I have included a worksheet which asks you to consider your personality. Certain personality attributes will match certain careers.

A question that is frequently asked is... What do you want to do when you leave school ? Answer is often

I don't know.

You have plenty of time to decide. You may change your mind.

However, thinking about the future is good because you can influence what it will look like for yourself.

What personality traits do you have?

Aspects of the perfect job.

Week beginning June 15th

Hello Year 8.

I hope that some of you have managed to look through the PowerPoint from last week which focused on your wellbeing. The content on the PSHE page will remain the same today as the PowerPoint is quite long and it is important that you try to really think about yourself and how you're feeling.

Your tutors have really enjoyed talking with some of you on Zoom  and hopefully it was good for you to catch up. This will be a regular meeting; maybe some of you might like to chat about some of the points raised here in PSHE.

Enjoy and keep strong.

Morning Year 8

I hope you've all had a good week- keeping positive and well.  Some of you have been chatting to your tutors this week and it's been great hearing what you've all been doing.

This week in PSHE the theme is Self -Care and Diet. It's perfectly ok if we sometimes have moments of feeling fed up and anxious at this strange time. The first video talks about grounding and thinking of the present. 5-4-3-2-1- It is quite a useful exercise-and helps us to focus on the present rather than becoming worried about the future. The other article is 74 suggestions for you guys.. teenagers. Hope they are helpful.

Also looking at food and diet and how this helps our general sense of well being. Enjoy.
