Curriculum Intent and Overview

Physical Education Curriculum Intent:

At Hugh Sexey all of our pupils have access to a PE and Games curriculum that promotes health, happiness and life long learning. In every lesson we encourage our pupils to be aspirational and to push the limits of their capability. This is done by presenting a curriculum that caters to all abilities whilst offering window of opportunity for our more able pupils to stretch and grow. It is a highly inclusive curriculum that offers a rich tapestry of activities and caters for all abilities. The breadth and balance of the activities offered throughout the school year serve to inspire our pupils and provide opportunities for all to succeed whilst being suitable challenged. Lessons allow for creativity and exploration. Promoting a learning environment that offers cultural and social development. Pupils are actively encouraged to try new skills and approaches and to not be afraid of failure or mistakes. Diversity is at the forefront of what we do. Every child is supported and has access to high quality lessons and a wide ranging and purposeful extra curricular program.
