Curriculum Intent and Overview

Drama Curriculum Intent:

Pupils experience a broad and ambitious Drama curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge. Pupils are immersed in a range of dramatic styles using multiple cross-curricular thematics, cross-faculty and performance arts skills. Throughout the key stage pupils will explore historical, social, geographical, cultural and political contexts of playscripts/events and explore their impact on 21^st Century Britain. The curriculum encourages pupils to be confident and independent thinkers, who will be skilled to create original work and critically analyse professional and non-professional repertoire. Pupils will have an appreciation of their own work and that of others, always demonstrating respect and empathy throughout.
