Together we believe; Together we achieve

Using Information Technology

At Hugh Sexey Middle School, we believe it is essential to use the digitial and information technology resources at our disposal to create a vibrant, innovative and engaging learning experience for your children. By doing so, we can continue to provide the skills and an education which develops each attribute of every student to the full.

To this end we must all be aware that today’s pupils will enter a rapidly changing world. Modern society demands innovation, collaboration, creativity, adaptability and resourcefulness. Quite simply, access to an online world now rich in content and communication has altered the way we live, work and play. Within a safe and controlled environment, it also provides incredible opportunities for learning.

Pupils will have access to a range of IT devices to support their learning at Hugh Sexey Cof E Middle School.  Classroom teachers may use laptops and portable devices to support and extend pupil learning.  Through their Computing lessons, pupils will learn to use new software and develop a specific technology skill set.

All pupils will be allocated a login for Office 365 and will learn to use this suite of applications, including Teams at KS3.  This ensure that all pupils have access to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive and Teams both at school at at home.  In the case of a future school, year or class closure, our Remote Learning provision will be delievered and supported partly or entirely through Office 365 applications
