Cool runnings from Grace

Grace met her running idol some months ago; the world breaking marathon runner Paula Radcliffe.  Since then, Grace has been creating her own story of running success.  She continues to break records at her local park run.

In January, Grace won the Somerset cross country championships at Barcroft Hall in South Petherton.  This qualified her for the South West schools cross country championships at Sheldon School in Wiltshire.  The race represents the best runners from nine counties.  Grace ran an amazing race again and achieved a podium place coming in third.

Well done to Katie A (7GDA) who got a bronze medal in her Karate competition last weekend!

Tom L created a vegetable soup for his English homework.

Bran A-A (7KA) wrote this stunning poem for his Mystery Island homework

Alice F (7GDA) recently got three golds and a silver in her dance competitions - well done, Alice!

Year 7 have been producing some fabulous tasks for their Mystery Island homework. Here is Katie A's shelter and Sam H's poem and shelter.

Leo D in 7GDA does gymnastics outside of school. Next month, he will be competing in his first competition! Well done, Leo!

Year 7 have been drawing maps of their Mystery Island in English.

Ollie is building up quite a following racing in the British Mini Bikes championship.  He rides a Mini GP70 and his next race is in Wales in October.

Grace met Paula Radcliffe at CarFest after Paula had delivered an inspiring speech for young athletes.  Paula broke the women's world marathon record in 2002 and then broke her own record again in 2003 and 2005.

Grace has taken Paula Radcliffe's inspiration to new heights.  Grace regularly takes part in 5 kilometre parkruns.  In the her latest run, she achieved first out of all juniors and women with an incredible personal best time of 20 minutes and 23 seconds.
