Welcoming the Season of Lent

This week, we welcomed guests in to be part of our worship sessions to recognise the beginning of Lent.  Katie Bishops joined us from Cheddar Valley Food Bank to highlight the local need.  Pupils, as part of their Lent deeds, are encouraged to make a donation to the Foodbank and help others.  As well, Fathers Richard and Sam joined pupils for some playground ministry and welcomed pupils to listen and receive an Ash Wednesday blessing.  

On Wednesay 18th Februrary, the were pleased to welcome Nigel Morton, formerly of the Royal Navy, into our school to speak with the pupils about the work of the RNLI.  The pupils were exploring our core Christian value of Endurance and the virtue of courage this week.  Nigel shared with us a little of the history of the organisation along with some very important safetly infomation about how we can break the drowning chain.  We all came to understand how courage is lived out through the actions of the RNLI volunteers, especailly in relation to the heroic actions of Grace Darling and more recently or the crew who sadly all perished in attempting to save people from the Union Star.

On Wednesday 11th January, we were happy to have Father Richard in to visit with us.  Father Richard shared with us a very special piece of Christian scripture Philippian 4:13 - I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.  This peice of scripture was chosen by our school to represent us and our relationship with God... a relationship that makes up stronger and helps guide us to be the best we can be.  We are looking forward to learning more about this scripture and making deeper links with it to support us in our journey through life and learning
