HSMS Service of Remembrance

Pupils and teachers were proud to welcome veterans and members of the Mark Royal British Legion, and staff governors to participate in our annual Service of Remembrance.  The service saw pupils lay wreaths of thanks dedicated this year to authors and story-tellers who have helped them the grow their understanding of peace and conflict and who have been instrumental in helping them to be able to 'remember'.  A specials thanks to our combined cadet squad of local sea, army and air cadets who paraded in our WWI banner and marked the occasion with a respectful salute.  Original poems and prayers were written and recited by Bo, Sophie and Finn.  We were very proud of Oscar in Y6 for playing the Last Post for us on his trumpet.
