U12 Girls Football - What a season these girls are having.....

Somerset Cup versus Kings Hall - Tuesday 12th December

On Tuesday the girls travelled to Kings Hall in Taunton to play the Somerset Schools Cup.

On a very wet, miserable, and cold day the girls were totally up for a game of football and didn't let the weather beat them.

Hugh Sexey's won the game 4-1, with hat trick from our 'goal machine' Thurling, and a goal scored by Slater. Considering the weather was awful, I was very impressed with the quality of football the girls played; they are a team and they played as a team.

Many thanks goes to Kings Hall for the great hospitality - the girls loved their sausage and chips after the game.

ESFA Nationals Cup versus Crispin - Thursday 14th December

We were very glad to hear that we had been drawn to play a local school, Crispin, for this away National game, as we could have been playing anywhere in the South West.

Hugh Sexey's were dominant right from the first whistle, applying pressure on Crispin, playing decent passing football and putting all the goals into the back of the net.

Credit must go to Crispin for not giving up -  they were a credit to their school.

.Goals - Slater x4, Thurling x2, Catley-Day x2, Griffiths x1, Pargeter x1, Woodcock x1 and Durrant x1.

Well done girls - absolutely terrific performances. Your dedication and effort in training has been outstanding. Mr Lamb and I have been so impressed with the whole girls' football programme at Hugh Sexey's; to have over 50 girls wanting to play school football is wonderful to see.
We now break up for Christmas and look forward to coming back in January and continuing the great cup run

Have a well deserved rest and great Christmas everyone!
