U12s Girls' Football - Somerset Champions

Yesterday our U12 girls played their Somerset Schools Cup final against Crispin at Street FC.

For the first 15 minutes both teams had opportunities to score and everyone thought this would be a tight game.

Hugh Sexey back three -Evie Jones, Evie Clements, and Grace Adams- were solid all afternoon, protecting goalkeeper Millie Thomas; Millie  made some cracking saves and her kicking was superb.

Midfield trio - Harriet Griffiths, Millie Pargeter and skipper Daisy Moss - were all superb, and played some fantastic passing football, which provided our strikers Jessie Woodcock and Izzy Cook all the opportunities  they needed to score.

Replacements were Jemima Thurling, who came on the pitch and scored instantly, Philippa Griffiths and Emilie Peake, both of whom  continued the great work the team were doing.

The whole squad was fantastic, and it was a true team effort  which saw Hugh Sexey's win 6-0; Izzy Cook and Jemima Thurling both scored a hat-trick. The quality of football played by everyone was great to watch.

Mr Waterfield and Mr Lamb are very pleased with how these girls have played all season, they totally deserve their success. This is the first year we have actually won the U12s cup; we have been in the final before but never actually won it. Well Done girls.
