Year 5 Sports Day

Well done to the Vikings who were crowned champions at the year 5 sports day. The Celts were 2nd, Saxons 3rd and the Normans 4th. It was wonderful to have parents/carers back on the School site again and they contributed to a great day.

There were standout performances in the track. Henry was agonisingly close to beating the year 5 800ms record. He ran a brilliant run of 2 minutes 55 to get maximum points for the Saxons. The Saxons also got first place in the girls 800m with Anna running a great time of 3 minutes 44. Evie had been working really hard on her 1500m and was a deserving winner for her House. It was great to see all of the boys and girls enjoying the track events and nice to see lots stepping in at the last minute. Arnie and Zach put all the dedicated practice to good use with some excellent performances. William also did very well in the numerous events he took part in.

In the Welly throw, Jess set a new School record of 15.10 meters. Beating the long-standing record set by Bethan Wall (14m 70) from 2004.

Well done to all involved and many thanks to the Sport Leaders for their time, energy and organisation.
