On Wednesday afternoon, the year 8 girls went to Frome to play in a tournament with Oakfield and Selwood. It was a cold day, but that didn’t stop us! In the first match, we started off a little shaky, maybe from the long bus journey, but suddenly woke up during the match, going on to win 8-4. From there, we were at our best, taking the second match 11-1 against Selwood. However, Oakfield were back, and they were determined to beat us. Fighting hard in the third and final game, both teams were playing the best they could, but Sexeys came out on top, winning 8-4 again. Winning the entire tournament, the team lived up to the Hugh Sexey sporting reputation and we came home smiling. Throughout the tournament the captaincy of Amy Anderson spurred the team on, leading us to victory. Kat Millard played particularly well, earning her the title of Player of the Tournament.
