Year Six House Matches - Hockey

The house matches were played on the MUGA which was a first in Hugh Sexey history.
All girls were eager to participate and the weather was kind so all was set for a great afternoon of hockey.
The four houses were divided into two teams per house , an A team and a B team. I explained that all results counted and this inspired some great cheerleading from the girls. Well done to Meredith from 6ILH for the only banner which she had made in her own time.
Two year eight players helped to umpire the matches- Sophia and Evie. Many thanks to the two sports leaders.

Celts looked strong from the start of the competition. Katie and Ella , both dominant in attack. There was some very fine moments of play from all girls and it soon became evident it was going to be a closely fought tournament . Layla was strong in defence, a credit to her as she has been a very reliable team player , not missing any practises.
After almost an hour and a half of hockey the final result was as followed based on number of matches won, drawn or lost.
4th place Vikings.
3rd place Normans
2nd place Saxons
Winners 2018 Celts
I have been very impressed with the enthusiasm and skill set shown by our year six players. Well done to all.
