  • Henry Explores London's Broadstreet Pump

    When he was in London recently Henry took time to explore the Broadstreet pump, having learnt about it in his history lessons.

    'I was in London with my uncles in the Soho area when I remembered the old water pump on Broad Street (now called Broadwick Street ) that was the source of a major cholera outbreak in 1845, and I wanted to visit it because I enjoyed the topic we did on it in humanities. When we arrived there was a monument of the pump in the place of the old one, and a pub called the John Snow after the doctor. '

    Kings Academy Middle School Bake off

     

    Pupils from Hugh Sexey Church of England Middle school and Fairlands Middle school enjoyed a brilliant baking competition at Kings Academy.

     

    The quality of the bakes was amazing and demonstrated the high skill level and understanding of flavour profiles our pupils possess.

     

    Well done everybody and especially Evie-Mae who was judge 'Star Baker' 2023

  • Henry plays hockey in Club Nationals.

     Last month Henry, 7CS, competed with his club Clifton Robinsons at the Nottingham Hockey centre in the under 12s In2hockey England club nationals.

  • Visit from a Buddhist Nun.

    Yesterday, year 7 pupils had a visit from a Buddhist nun as part of their religious studies unit about the beliefs and practices of Buddhism.  Lamchen has been a Buddhist nun for 20 years now and supports herself by working as a carer when she isn't teaching classes at the Bristol Buddhist Centre. Pupils had an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about what it is like to live as a Buddhist in Bristol today.

  • Mimi's Brilliant Bar Routine

    Mimi travelled to Stoke on Trent and competed in the National Finals as part of the South West Regional Team.

     

    The team did really well in a very competitive field and came away with an overall 6th place.

     

    Mimi did brilliantly overall and also managed to score the highest on the Bars and took 1st place in the UK - what an amazing result for one of the youngest in the competition.

    Well done Mimi, everyone is very proud of you.
