  • Forest School

Thu 09 May 2024 Mrs Allen

7KA are now at the second phase of their well - being initiative. The year 5s are now choosing whether they wish to attend . This week we welcomed 5SR to the forest school area. One quote "I've been so excited " The year 5s either built homes for mice out of natural resources or made clay heads of their favourite pet.

They all seemed very happy at the end . Well done to Emily H, Lily F , Emily T , Brooke, Jack , Harrison B and to Betsy from 7KA

First School Cross Country Festival, 8th May

The rescheduled meeting was very well attended by our feeder schools. The sun shone but not too brightly, which made perfect conditions for cross country running.

The year eight leaders coached and encouraged the younger runners. Special mention to the four hares , who run regularly with Mr. Jackson: Dawson ( his first role as a leader, ) Poppy, Grace and one year seven Bethany .

There were two events: year threes and then year fours. Medals were given to the first three runners (boys and girls) and an overall cup to the school with the lowest points. This year it was Wedmore school who lifted the cup .

Thanks to Mr. Jackson who gives so freely of his time to this sport.

Finally , it was lovely to see such inspiring running and to witness so much enthusiasm and potential.

  • Year 5 Multiskills Festival

Thu 02 May 2024 Mrs Allen

The year eight sports leaders have been preparing for this event and had carefully planned skill- based activties. This included: rugby, football, hockey, obstacle courses, tug of war and parachute games. This was to help the sports leaders prepare for the big multi skills festival  in June  with the  feeder schools.

We were lucky with the weather and there was a great turn out  out from our year fives.

It was encouraging to watch the year eights lead and guide  the younger pupils. When I spoke to the pupils at the end, they all expressed how  much they had enjoyed themesleves.

Thanks to Mr.Goodwin for his help and support with this event.

    Mrs Allen
