Sénégal Fast Food - Music Video
This video is by West African singers 'Amadou et Mariam'. It's set in Dakar, in Senegal. There is a lot of French spoken in this part of Africa. The singers come from Mali, and are both blind.
A young man, recently married, dreams of getting away from the poverty in Senegal to go to wealthy Europe. The end is ambiguous, but there is a real contrast between the bright colours and vibrancy of the African city and the hard reality of his arrival in France.
The chorus is all about time - Il est minuit à Tokyo, il est cinq heure au Mali... Quelle heure est-il au Paradis? (It is midnight in Tokyo, it's 5 in Mali... what time is it in Paradise?)
Try to list all the different types of transport you see in French.
