Today we are learning to say what sort of area you live in:
in a village, in a city/town, in the countryside, or by the sea.
Task 1: RÉVISEZ
What are these dwellings, in English? Write them down.
1) une maison 2) un château 3) une caravane 4) un camping-car
5) un appartement 6) un immeuble 7) une ferme
Click here to go back and revise the 7 dwellings from last lesson if you need to.
Task 2: REGARDEZ
Watch the video to learn the 4 locations.
You can answer the questions in your head, or have some paper to jot them down on.
The important thing is to try SAYING the new words OUT LOUD.
TASK 3: ÉCOUTEZ et ÉCRIVEZ
Listen to each track, and write down what you hear, in FRENCH.
Use this writing frame to check the spellings.
(or for more challenge, write first and check the spelling afterwards!)
TASK 4: ÉCOUTEZ et TRADUISEZ
For each recording, write down IN ENGLISH:
A) the dwelling (e.g. house)
B) the type of area (e.g. city)
C) the name of the place (e.g. London)
D) who they live with (e.g. sister)
Note down any other information you hear for bonus points!
TASK 5: ÉCRIVEZ
Write a full answer to the question Où habites-tu?
Here is an example to adapt:
J'habite dans un appartement en ville à Bristol, avec ma famille.
You could extend your answer by adding adjectives and an opinion, like this:
J'habite dans un petit appartement en ville à Bristol avec ma famille. J'aime mon appartement parce que c'est confortable!
You could look up other dwellings, adjectives or people on https://www.wordreference.com/... but DON'T look up whole sentences.
Please send me your work from today on the Teams assignment, as a photo or document.
