We encourage pupils to take risks knowing they are in a safe and supportive environment. We aim to “develop an understanding that the freedom to choose and hold other faiths and beliefs is protected by law”. At Hugh Sexey Church of England Middle School, pupils are actively encouraged to make independent choices, with the knowledge that they are in a safe, secure and supportive environment. Our staff educate and provide boundaries for pupils to make informed choices, through a safe environment and an empowering education. Through PSHE and the computing curriculum we encourage pupils and parents to make positive and safe choices with regards to their online activity; positive choices with regards to well-being of self and others are encouraged through PSHE and through liaison with external agencies and tailored Collective Worship or tutor time sessions. We have a robust anti-bullying culture and has in place a comprehensive response to poor choices.
