Negatives - saying what you DON'T do

L'OBJECTIF: To form negative sentences, saying what you DON'T do

Negative Sentences say what you DON’T do.

 

In French, you have to add two words to your sentence:   NE + PAS.

 

These go on either side of the verb:

LISEZ 

Put an N next to each sentence which is negative

(which says what they DON’T do):

 

  1. Je mange des bonbons.
  2. Je ne mange pas de bonbons.
  3. Je regarde un film.
  4. Je joue au foot.
  5. Je ne joue pas au tennis.
  6. Je ne regarde pas la télé.
  7. Je surfe sur internet.
  8. Je ne danse pas.

Translate the negative sentences into English.

Circle or highlight the verb in each sentence below:

 

  1. Je fais mes devoirs.
  2. Je discute avec ma famille.
  3. Je telephone à mes amis.
  4. Je bois un coca.
  5. Je mange une pizza.
  6. Je range ma chambre.

Add ne and pas on either side of the verb to make the sentence negative.

 

Now translate the sentences into English.
