J'y crois pas! I don't believe it!

L'OBJECTIF: Now you are familiar with a range of new verbs and activities, the next step is to extend your sentences with vocabulary you already know, to say:

• where you do things
• who with
• simple opinions

Today we are making up unbelievable sentences!

TASK 1: REMPLISSEZ LA GRILLE

Copy these words into the correct column of this table. There are 4 in each column.

TASK 2: TRADUISEZ

Translate these sentences:

1) I listen to music in the bathroom with my cat. It’s fantastic. ________________________________________________________________

2) I watch the TV behind the wardrobe with my brother. It’s funny.

3) I play football on the table with my gran. It’s difficult.

TASK 3: ÉCRIVEZ 

Developing/low secure:

Make up 3-5 more unbelievable sentences of your own, using the words in the table above.

High Secure/Mastery:

Make up 3-5 more unbelievable sentences of your own, using your vocab booklet to find other rooms, furniture, people, prepositions and adjectives.

TASK 4: JOUEZ!

Work with a partner.

• Person A makes up a sentence using the words below. Don't show it to B.
• B says Qu'est-ce que tu fais? (What are you doing?)
• A replies, but doesn't have to be truthful! 
• If B doesn't believe A said what they have written, say J'y crois pas! (I don't believe it)
• If B thinks they were truthful, say D'accord, j'y crois! (Okay, I believe it!)

B wins the point for guessing correctly; A wins the point if B guesses wrongly!

Swap roles after each guess. Keep a record of the score.
