Summer 2022:
The Humanities Department is so exited now that many of the Covid-19 restrictions are easing. We had two really exciting opportunites for our pupils to extend their subject knowledge and explore how the Humanities subjects are connected to the world of work and further study:
13th June: Bovington Tank Museum: Pupils met the education consultant who spoke with our learners to find out what its link to work and Tank museum, careers paths, and the importance of the conservation and education work they undertake at the museum
5th July: Commonwealth War Graves Commission: HSMS hosted a visit from Simon Bendry (Head of Education and Engaement) who gave a presentation to Y8 pupils, enhancing their work on post-WWI commemoration, on the historic and on-going work of the CWGC. He also highlight opportunites for pupils with an interest in the study of World War I & II for further study, including career path opportunites and internships offered by the CWGC
