U13 Girls Football - ESFA Nationals AWAY to Fairlands

Hugh Sexey's were drawn away and made the short journey to local school Fairlands for the 1st round of the ESFA cup.

Hugh Sexey's started the game very brightly and scored immediately, Izzy hammering the ball home after a defensive error. Fairlands came back strongly and started to counter attack; great defence skills from Hugh Sexey's prevented them scoring.

Good work from Midfield trio Philippa , Daisy, and Jessie  who played some smart passing football' which set Georgia up to finish with a lovely goal.  Fairlands soon pulled one back, but Millie, our goal  keeper, was superb between the posts making some terrific saves.

Just before half time  Izzy raced clear through the defence to slot the ball into the bottom corner of the net; the score at half time:3-2  to Sexeys.

In the second half some changes were made: Harriet and Rhiannon were introduced into the game. Defenders Evie C., Millie and Evie J. played solidly all game defending superbly and keeping Fairlands quiet. Evie C. then scored a superb goal in the top corner from outside the area, after good work from a short corner.

Freya Stephens then came off the bench and continued the great work. Izzy completed her hat trick, and Jessie  smashed the ball home to finish the game; the final score was 6-2.

A great start to the football campaign girls; I would like to praise the whole team, it was a terrific team effort.- keep up the good work.
