Chance to Compete Cricket

Congratulations to the year 8 boys who came out on top in the Chance to Compete Cricket. Bad traffic congestion had an impact on the games with the visiting teams all delayed. Fairlands secured a victory against Wells Blue in a rearranged fixture whilst Hugh Sexey awaited St Katherine's arrival.

George N opened the batting and hit a quick 23 off 2 overs. He was ably accompanied by Lewis R who got 12. Sam T also performed well with the batt and retired on the agreed 20 runs. Sergio W, Tom S and Will F were also doing well, with the score totalling at 72 after 7 overs.

With St Katherines chasing a big score George N did well to restrict the first over to 4 runs taking 1 wicket in the process. Will F had a very dominant over with 3 wickets. Sam T all but sealed the game with a 4th over comprising 4 dot balls and 2 wickets. George E also performed well with the ball in what was his first game for the school. James F also flourished as wicket keeper adding another sporting string to his bow.
