'Chance to Compete' Girls' Cricket.

"Chance to Compete" girls cricket competition

A team of eight girls took part in an U13 girls cricket tournament at Webdon against five other schools.

We played three matches.  For each match, every player bowled five balls and every batting pair faced 10 balls.

The first match was a narrow 54 : 53 win against The Gryphon School.  Daisy was our star player in this match; hitting three 4s as well as bowling a maiden over.  There was tidy bowling too from Grace and Emilia took a catch from Georgiana's bowling.

In the second match we lost 52 : 79 to the eventual winners Holyrood.  Emilia, Georgiana, Sofia and Olivia all hit 4s.  Just 2 runs were taken from Olivia's over and she took a wicket which was caught by Mara.

We then won the third/fourth place play off against Haygrove by 86 : 79.  Emilia, Georgiana, Sofia and Daisy all hit 4s.  We also took a couple of wickets; Mara taking a catch from Tilly's bowling and Olivia clean bowling one of the Haygrove batters.

A very enjoyable afternoon of cricket and a great experience too for our debutants Georgiana, Grace, Sofia and Tilly.
