Cook serves up a goal feast

A hat trick by striker Noah was the main talking point in a well matched game against Fairlands. The visiting side got the opening goal with a wonderful strike from distance. The first half was often a case of two sides trying to find their rhythm. Hugh Sexey tried to play positive football but often got caught trying to hit the ball long - a style that doesn't suit our players. Michal, Charles and Charlie formed a very potent back three with all three offering different attributes and restricting the Fairlands attack to long range shots. Eventually Hugh Sexey equalised with Noah showing great persistence to bundle the ball into the back of the net. At half time Lewis and Zach were introduced with an adaption being made to the formation. This allowed Toby, a bright spark throughout the game, greater licence to get forward and along with Archie and Charlie they were able to get beyond the lines and stretch Fairlands more frequently. We then scored again with great interplay allowing Noah a neat tap in. He then wrapped up proceedings finishing clinically from a 1 on 1.

It was very pleasing to see the boys so excited by the fixture and  playing with such vigour.

Many thanks to Fairlands for a lovely game.

Final score: 3-1 to HSMS
