It was a fantastic achievement to have got through to the semi final of the Somerset schools cricket cup for U13s. Millfield proved too strong in all aspects of the game and so this was where the adventure ended.
The same 11 cricketers as last time represented Hugh Sexey and, after a nervous start, fought valiantly against a top class opposition in wonderful surroundings near Glastonbury Tor.
There were great catches from Harry Banwell and Charlie Jackson and a run out by George Ryan. Both Sam Tucker and George Ryan took two wickets each and George was on for a hat-trick. Sam also made a stoic effort batting against consistently on the mark bowling and lasted for half of the Hugh Sexey innings.
It was a great experience for the boys and we expect Millfield to be a formidable opposition to whoever they meet in the final.
