Cross Country League races at Millfield

Years 5&6 cross country - Race 1

The Mendip Junior Schools Cross Country League 2023/24 started with its biggest ever participation of 33 schools and 450 runners.

Millfield hosted the first race of the season.  We had a team of 5 girls and a team of 5 boys.

It was fantastic to have Bea, Floss, Tilly, Joey and Miles from Year 5 represent Hugh Sexey in a sports fixture for the first of what I am sure will be many times.  Anna and Josh from Year 6 were also first time runners.

All ran with great determination in what must have felt like daunting circumstances with so many other runners and supporting adults present. 

Bea, Tilly and Henry all achieved top 20 placings and both our teams are currently placed a credible 5^th out of all the participating schools.

We move on to Race 2 in Shepton Mallet in a few weeks.
