D.T. Aerospace Trip.

On Monday 19th November a group of 30 pupils from Year 7 and Year 8 went on a visit to the Aerospace Museum in Bristol. Pupils learnt about the aeronautical industry in Bristol and further developed their STEM skills by learning to become a Design Engineer. Pupils had a fantastic time finding key facts about aircrafts designed in Bristol and exploring inside Concorde. During the visit pupils were given the opportunity to work in teams of 6 to design and make a rescue aircraft for the future that could be pitched to the client Airbus. During the making of their aircraft pupils had to make sure their product met the criteria points given by Airbus this included showing consideration of weight, budget and size. Once their product was made pupils had to pitch their idea to the Learning Team at Aerospace by justifying their design decisions.
