Gareth Waterfield wins top rugby award

Congratulations to Gareth Waterfield for winning the Presidents people power award for his contribution to coaching rugby at Winscombe and Somerset. Gareth was invited onto the Twickenham pitch at half time during the England vs Wales match to collect the award in front of 82,000 people.

The nomination stated that "he was an exceptional coach who establishes amazing rapport with the players". It went on to say that "his work with boys and girls rugby from under 13 onwards is astonishing". His nomination also paid tribute to Gareth's tremendous energy and how generous he is with his time.

It is no surprise to everyone at Hugh Sexey that Gareth should be nominated and go on to win the award. We are very proud to have him amongst us, and just like the players at Winscombe benefit from his generosity and expertise, so to do the students at Hugh Sexey.
