Greek Day for Year 5

On Tuesday 25th May, Year 5 enjoyed a day of activities to learn about life as an Ancient Greek. Children and teachers entered into the spirit of the day by dressing in Greek costume. Activities included Greek Maths problems, Olympic activities, Trojan horse debate and making Greek vases. The highlight of the day was a drama workshop based on Greek myths led by fantastic storyteller, Clive Pig.
Here are some comments from members of Year 5:
"It has been really fun and we've learnt a lot, " William B.
"It was great to bring to life some of the myths of the Ancient Greek Gods. One of my favourite Gods is Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty, because love conquers all." Brayden.
"It has been fun and it was exciting to have a visitor in to tell us even more about Greece," Scarlett.
"It was funny to see the teachers and pupils walking around school in their amazing Greek costumes. Some people were taking the role very seriously!" Freya.
