Swimming Gala
Key Stage three
Our galas started on Monday 20th June with our KS3 gala
This was an opportunity for our older pupils to swim and was well attended by the children .
There were some strong performances from Oscar A , Ferris , Olivia M who all work hard at swimming training and in tri events . I was also pleased by those who joined in for the "fun" aspects .
Year 5 Gala
This was a very enjoyable event for our year five pupils , their first such event at school . Each house was well represented and our year eight sports leaders did a fantastic job running the event.
Some amazing swimmers, who clearly work hard at club level, demonstrated their fine techniques .
It was also very encouraging to witness our beginners speeding up the pool with their floats; very brave.
It was incredibly close and the final score after the push and glide event was a draw.
After a final swim, the winners were the Vikings.
Year 6 Gala
This was another very enjoyable event .
Many of the year six pupils attend swimming clubs and it was wonderful to watch their brilliant techniques.
It was great to see four of our club swimmers break a long standing record in the medley relay; their photo can be seen below.
Well done to our beginners who also scored vital points for their houses.
The result came down to the push and glide
Final winners Saxons
Well done and many thanks to everyone who made all the galas such enjoyable and rewarding events . This includes our wonderful site staff who have worked tirelessly to prepare the pool .
