Kings Academy Football Tournament

On the 7th of March, we travelled to Kings Academy to part take in a tournament run by 3 boys from Year 13; they made sure it was a fulfilling day. We were lucky enough to be able to take 2 teams of year 8 boys, all ready for action. Fairlands did the same.

As the first round of games commenced, it was looking bright for both of our teams. George, Will and Dillan on team 1 showed great dribbling skills and a determination to push their team to victory in their first game. Over on the second pitch team 2 were also playing well: Nick, Sam and Louis contributed goals towards their team's first win of the day.

When the second round started team 1 carried on their winning streak with another dominant performance, scoring a magnificent 9 goals! Overall it was a fantastic team display, with great distribution and all-around awareness, starting with the goalkeeper Freddie.

Team 2 also put on another breath-taking display, with star performances from Cameron, Leo and Harry. These 3 showed great desire and guided their team to victory.

The last game was between between Hugh Sexey's teams 1 and 2 to decide the overall winner for the day. It was an end-to-end game which was battled out right to the final whistle. George scoring 4 goals and Austin getting 2 were the star performers. Team 2 put up a great fight but unfortunately missed out narrowly; the final score was 4-1 to Team 1.

Overall it was a great day of football and all of the boys felt as if they'de done themselves proud. Thank you to Kings Academy for allowing us to have such fun.
