SSAA Cross Country Championships

14 runners gave a fantastic effort for Hugh Sexey at the Somerset schools cross country championships at King's College in Taunton.

The course was deceptively challenging; deceptive because the undulating and muddy sections were hidden from view for spectators.

Our runners, which included six first timers, were:

Year 7 girls - Alice and Grace

Year 7 boys - Ben, Leo, Vin and Will

Year 8 girls - Ella, Ruby J, Ruby T and Zara

Year 8 boys - Elijah, Jack, Oli and Zach

Our highest placed runners in each race were Grace, Zara, Elijah and, arriving together in unison, Ben and Vin.

Grace continued her amazing form coming in second in the Year 7 Girls race and just a few strides from first.

Not the best tactical decision but credit to Zach who, on noticing his race number had fallen off, ran back to pick it up and dropping several places in the process.
