Sports Day

After a long absence it was so pleasing to have the year groups out again and enjoying school sport. Adaptions were made for the Sports days with the competition being set in tutor groups. It was so pleasing to see all our pupils involved and was an excellent way to bring an end to an unusual and at times challenging year.

I hope all the pupils are proud of their contributions. Over the 4 days we saw boys and girls challenge themselves whilst still showing excellent compassion towards other pupils. There were numerous stand out performances throughout the week and I hope the pupils can reflect on their efforts and that it motivates them to continue to work hard. There were new records set in year 5 and year 8. Libby set a new year 5 record in the girls 1500m with a time of 6 minutes and 22 seconds. This broke Katie Radfords record from 2017 and put Libby alongside big brother Finley in the record books. Jack from year 8 also broke Matthew Fotheringham's 2005 record in the welly throw with a huge distance of 29m 33.

It was special to have all the pupils out competing again and I was so proud to see the level of performance on display and the excellent spirit shown by our pupils. Many thanks also to all the student volunteers who gave up their time to help others.
