The Normans came out on top in a close run House Sports day for year 7 and 8. There was a new School record on the high jump for Lucy Taylor with a height of 1 metre 41. Grace Baker put in 2 valiant displays in pursuit of a record in both the 400 and 1500 metres. In both races she came out as winner in strong fields but she narrowly missed out on two long standing records. The same was true of Zak Tarring in the 100 metres. Disappointing for them but a further reminder of the proud sporting pedigree of Hugh Sexey.
Whilst it wasn't perfect conditions for an athletics meet, with a constant threat of rain running alongside constant wind the athletes all enjoyed themselves and played an active role in the track, field and participation events. It was pleasing to have some former pupils support the event and it is always great to catch up with these and see that their love of sport and competition resumes.
Thank you to all that helped support the occassion.
