Year 7 Boys' Footballs vs Fairlands and Mark College

Hugh Sexey 1 - 0 Fairlands

Hugh s Sexey put in an accomplished display against a gritty and determined Fairlands outfit. It was a wonderful atmosphere throughout with no player giving a back ward step in any challenge. Oscar Boorman was magnificent at the back and drove his team on. It was good to see Jacob Aberdeen playing with a smile on his face and he was one of a number of prominent players. Luc Griffiths broke the deadlock when he bundled the ball home bravely. The side then held onto a narrow victory. There were chances at either end but both keepers were in commanding form.

Hugh Sexey 9 - 0 Mark College

Many thanks to Mark College who made the journey to Hugh Sexey. It is always a pleasure to host Mark and I am thrilled that a prominent relationship is developing between the local schools. Kenny Poole and Liam Chick demonstrated there wonderful attitude by playing for Mark. They played with exactly the same level of commitment and drive that they would demonstrate playing for the school, and they were a credit to themselves, Hugh Sexey and Mark. It was a far closer game than the score line suggested with goalkeeper Toby Marshall busy throughout. Charlie Rant and Ben Turrell finished with hat tricks and their were goals for Lewis Conway, Freddie Willis and Henry Williams. Mark never gave in and demonstrated a resilience that we do not always see from our students when they experience defeat. They were a credit to their school and their teacher Mr Creaser.
