Millfield School Somerset Games

The team qualified for the Somerset hockey finals at Well Blue earlier this term; they had won the Mendip tournament.

Arriving early at school the team were excited and prepared for a high quality tournament .

Many teams from all over Somerset arrived with their teachers to play on the Astro at Millfield.

We were in Pool B which meant we played Danesfield, Sexeys Bruton and Haygrove. The first match v Danesfield was close but we scored a winning goal in the last few moments. The score 2-1 to Hugh Sexey. The second match versus Sexeys Bruton was a lovely, well played game. Both teams displayed fine skills and the final score was truly reflective of the nature of the game 0-0. Scarlett in goal was superb with interception kicks. The final Mach v Haygrove was close but a hard hit strike at the goal from Charli meant we won 2-1.

The team eagerly awaited the draw . On goal difference we made it to the third place final. This was against Bishop Fox, Taunton and it was very close. The final score was 2-1 to Hugh Sexey.

The team came third which is a fantastic achievement and they also remained undefeated in match play. Well done girls, and thank you to the families who supported.

Also a big thank you to all the Key stage three girls who attended Wednesday club. It has been a most successful and happy season.
