Year 8 First X1 Versus Wells Blue (home )
It was a very cold start to this match.
Historically always a close match between these two sides, today was no different.
It is always pleasing to watch an eleven a side match as this is what the girls will all eventually play. Hugh Sexey got off to a good start with quite an early goal by Zoe Coles.
This team have played together for some time and this was reflected in their supportive teamwork. Pleasing to see the ball being passed to the two wings,Erin Watkins and Alice Roy.
There was then another goal by Grace White ( who has very successfully been selected for JDC development squad.) who hammered the ball past the Wells Keeper. Wells had possession in the first half but failed to get the ball past the defenders, Saskia Carrington, Evie Puddy ( thank you to her mother for washing team shirts.) and keeper,Kaitlin Pettitt.
In the second half the girls went onto score another three goals ,one of which was a well executed short corner ( reminded me of our ladies in Rio)
Well done to the team. A fantastic performance in cold conditions.
Final score 5-0 to Hugh Sexey . Players of the Match Saskia and Zoe
