Together we believe; Together we achieve

Year eight Mendip Hockey Tournament.

On a very wet Wednesday, the year eight hockey team turned up with matching hairstyles to represent the school.
There were six schools in the competition:
Wells Blue
Oakfield
Selwood
Crispin
Fairlands

Wells Blue
Despite a strong attacking game, Wells Blue scored an outstanding goal from the rim of the circle. The final score was 2-0 to Wells Blue.
Oakfield
The team found their form in this match and scored four goals . It was an exciting game and the final score was 4-0 to Hugh Sexey.
Selwood
A close game. The Selwood defence was strong. It looked as if it might be a draw but in the final few minutes, we scored a goal.
The final score was 1-0 to Hugh Sexey.
Crispin.
Crispin fought bravely against a relentless attack from our girls. Outstanding performances from Philippa G on the wing and Daisy BH in midfield .
Final score 6-0 to Hugh Sexey.
Fairlands
The girls were particularly apprehensive about this match. However, it proved to be a very close match. Many of the teams are friendly in their hockey clubs outside school and they all look an
exciting prospect for year nine. The ball travelled from one end of the pitch to the other but no goal was scored.
Final Score 0-0
After a final game between Wells Blue and Fairlands , Hugh Sexey came third overall.
A delightful, if wet afternoon . The girls should be proud of both their performance and their enthusiastic, positive attitude.
