Year five Cricket festival Wells Cricket Club

May 4th
The eight year five boys travelled (rather a long way round ) to Wells Cricket Club to participate in the annual Kwik cricket competition. They looked very professional in their whites and led by captain, George Ross they enjoyed a great, sunny afternoon of cricket in beautiful surroundings.
There were three other schools present: Elmhurst ( two teams) Wookey and Oakfield Middle.
The boys took it in turns to bowl an over in each match.
Considering it was the first experience for some,William Martin and Riley Reah their skills showed great timing and precision.
The two experienced cricket players batted with great finesse particularly Nathan Kemp who scored the highest score in the team, consistently hitting 6s.
Well done to all the boys: Nathan, George ,Kieran, Dennis, Louis , Will ,Riley and Max.
The boys won all their matches and hence the tournament and will now go onto represent Mendip in the next round.
