Yr 7 Netball - friendly vs Wells Blue

 

A brighter day and a keen squad. For many girls in this team it was their first experience of playing for the school. I was impressed with their independent warm up and focused approach. 

Wells Blue arrived and the matches began - four quarters of eight minutes. 

I was umpiring the B team in the first half. Captained by Beatrice, the team looked as if they had been together for a long time. Footwork was excellent and some accurate shooting from Ellie May and Beatrice meant the girls took an early 3-0 lead.  The final score was 9-2 to Hugh Sexey.It was great to see Riley defend with such determination. 

I umpired the A team in the second half. Again , some skilful play. The shooter from Wells was accurate but captain Jez and GK , Ruby prevented too many goals. Grace W and Grace E played well together as GS and GA . Daisy was making her debut performance as WD .

The final score was 6-5 to Wells Blue. 

A very enjoyable afternoon of netball with all matches being  played with great team spirit.
