Yr8 A Team Hockey vs Fairlands
Match report
The girls have been preparing for their first match this season on Thursday evenings. Inspired by recent Olympic success and the large turnouts at club the team showed a high level of skill and improved teamwork in an exciting match.
Many of this team are now playing at club level and Captain Grace White recently took part in county trials.
I was able to referee the first half in which four goals were scored by Grace White and centre half Abbie Bewley. There were some great runs up the right wing by Eryn Watkins and Evie Puddy displayed her defensive skill as a sweeper.
The second half saw a goal scored by Fairlands and a final fifth goal by midfielder Jess Robbins.
A great team effort and a quote from one of the parents who expressed how the girls had all improved since she watched them play in year seven.
Well done.
Final score 5-1 to Hugh Sexey. Player of the match Grace Ashurst.
