Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The workshop equipped our pupils with the skills and awareness to handle dangerous or unfamiliar situations on the road. Key topics covered were: distractions, seatbelts, cycle safety and speed. Each of these areas was backed-up by facts and discussion points aimed specifically at getting the pupils to talk about the issues.
Thursday 18th January
This was the Year 8 Football team’s first fixture of 2018 and they couldn’t have got off to a better start. New team captain Nathan Radford got the team warmed up well and they looked very focused and organised as the game started.
Within 2 minutes of the kick off the team were in full flow already. After great play from Ronnie Newton out wide, he delivered a perfect cross for Will Flavin who finished smartly at the front post. For the rest of the first half the game was evenly poised with few attempts on both goals. After the half time break Crispin came out determined to get back into the game. They were playing the better football at this point but the Hugh Sexey back four stayed strong. Special mention to Ethan Floyd and Fraser Bruce who didn’t let the Crispin strikers have an inch of space. Heading into the last 10 minutes the score was still 1-0. In a bid to close out the game Hugh Sexey added an extra midfielder and played a lone striker in George Moss. With five minutes remaining George Moss broke through on goal and calmly slotted the ball home to seal the game.
Overall, a very strong first performance of the year for the team. Congratulations to all the players and especially Sam Tucker who stepped in in goal and played brilliantly.

Last summer, on the last day of term, many of our HSMS pupils generously donated their used school shoes which they had outgrown. Today was the very special day, when charity workers from 'Educate the Kids' travelled to Kenya, to fit and distribute shoes for the children as they start their new school year. Most the children attending the sponsored school are so poor that their families would never be able to afford a pair of shoes. These children often walk a long way from rural villages to get an education, and without shoes, risk injury and disease which would force them to be absent from school. The children are most grateful for you generosity. Once again we will aim to collect used shoes to donate to Jolaurabi School, on the last day of summer term. You are always welcome to donate used shoes at any time of the year by sending them in to school for the attention of Mrs Adair (Taylor).
